Why did you select Ethnic Studies?
I worked for over 20 years in the IT field prior to returning to school in the Fall of 2017. I did not feel that I was fulfilling all that I could by working in an office. I wanted to work with people, specifically, Native Americans. I have had an interest in Native American history and culture for many years and hope to use my degrees to become an advocate or social worker with Native Americans.
What is your favorite course?
My favorite class so far would be Rethinking the American West. We had an opportunity to dive deeply into the cultures who lived here prior to European settlement and also dealt with the impact that settlement has had on indigenous people.

What are you involved in on campus?
Sigma Alpha Lambda, Tau Sigma, Alpha Kappa Delta
What are your plans after graduation?
My wife and I plan to work on or near an Indian Reservation. I would like to be an advocate for the people who may not be able to advocate for themselves. There have been many injustices perpetuated on Native Americans throughout the last several hundred years. If I am able to help heal some of those wounds and provide a bridge between cultures, that is what I want to do.
