About Me

I am a first year Master’s student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in the Sociology Department. I studied Criminal Justice at Castleton University in Vermont and minored in Communication and Women and Gender Studies. I do not yet have an advisor, but my research interests are in qualitative methods and looking at gender studies. My other interests are in mental health and behaviors developed from different media outlets. Currently, most of my time with school is spent focusing on my recitations and trying to refine my research interests in preparation for my summer research work. I plan to pursue my certification in Women’s and Gender Studies and submit my research to the Society of Women in Sociology Winter Conference for 2021.

I have only lived in Lincoln for around 6 months but have developed a soft spot for the city. I enjoy being part of a tight knit group like the UNL sociology department while still getting to expand my horizons and have many new experiences in a city like Lincoln. I feel very lucky to have found a home in an incredibly supportive program. When I am not focusing on my work in the department, I enjoy exploring the Haymarket District with my friends and seeing a movie each week on the discount movie days.
