About me/ Bio
I am a 2nd year PhD student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I am born and raised in Bangladesh. I graduated from East West University, Bangladesh with a Bachelor degree in Sociology in 2018 and a Master in Development Studies in 2022. During my Bachelor in Bangladesh, I worked as an Intern at Bangladesh Institute of Labor Studies and I gained an expertise in conducting interviews, focus group discussion and data enumeration. My area of interest in research is mostly focused on family, mental health and life course perspective and I am especially interested in family violence and family relationships. During summer 24, I worked on a research project on ‘People’s Attitudes, Experiences & Expectations of Sibling Relationship in Bangladesh’ where I focused on people from Bangladesh living in the US especially, Bangladeshi students studying at University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I am very excited to expand my knowledge in the area of family.
I have been very lucky to receive the J. J. & Eleanor S. Ogle Summer Fellowship from the Department of Sociology. I am eager to connect with researchers whose work aligns with my research interest and look forward to great opportunities in these fields.
