About Me

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria, and I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Sociology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. My research interests lie in the social determinants of health, with a particular focus on how social factors such as poverty, neighborhood conditions, social stratification, and cumulative advantages shape health outcomes. I am especially drawn to studying aging populations, as older adults tend to receive less academic and policy attention compared to other demographic groups, which points to the need for more scholarly exploration in this area. My thesis, titled 'Household Wealth and Mental Health in Older Adults: The Moderating Role of Social Support,' My thesis, titled 'Household Wealth and Mental Health in Older Adults: The Moderating Role of Social Support,' stems from my interest in understanding how socioeconomic status (SES) contributes to health disparities.

I have been fortunate to receive several prestigious awards, including the David C. & Morilyn S. More Quantitative Research Award, the Scott C. Whiteford Graduate Student Award, the J. J. & Eleanor S. Ogle Summer Fellowship, and recognition as the Best Graduating Student in the Department of Sociology at the University of Ilorin. I am eager to connect with researchers and scholars whose work intersects with my research interests and look forward to collaborative opportunities
