I am a Fulbright Scholar and a second year MA student in the Department of Sociology at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Prior to joining UNL, I completed my undergraduate degree at the Free University of Tbilisi. For my bachelor’s thesis, I explored cross-cultural differences in symbolic self-immolation in China and the Soviet bloc. Currently, my master’s research focuses on Georgians’ perceptions of their country’s political system. In the future, I aim to study the rise of authoritarianism, as well as propaganda and stigmatization narratives targeting sexual minorities—particularly in Eastern Europe.
