Dan Hoyt, professor of sociology and director of the Social and Behavioral Sciences Research Consortium, received a Louise Pound-George Howard Distinguished Career Award from the university's Faculty Senate at The Laurels ceremony on Sept. 2, 2019.
"I am honored to be given this recognition," he tweeted. "When I read the nomination and supporting letters, it is clear to me that the noted accomplishments were all collaborative efforts and - more often than not - the original idea came from these colleagues."
The award was established in 1990 to recognize individuals with a distinguished career of service to the University of Nebraska who have made an exceptional contribution through teaching, research, public service, and/or administration, reflecting a long-standing commitment to the university.
