Advising at UNL
After an initial meeting with the Department's Chief Undergraduate Advisor, a student majoring in sociology is assigned to a faculty member who will be the student's permanent advisor, unless the student requests a change. Because the program is a flexible one and many alternatives are available, students are urged to consult regularly with their advisors in respect to specific requirements and courses, and for aid in planning academic objectives and setting career goals.
Students interested in a sociology minor should meet with the Chief Undergraduate Advisor who will work with the student to develop a minor program to best serve the student's objectives.
