My name is Katie Slauson-Blevins. I received undergraduate degrees in both psychology and sociology with a minor in women’s studies from Iowa State University. I also received my Masters degree in sociology from Iowa State. During my time as a graduate student I have taught Introduction to Sociology, Marriage and Family, and Women in Contemporary Society. I am interested in the areas of family, health, gender, and new technologies. At the present time I am working on my dissertation, titled “Infertility help seeking and social support: Do conventional theories explain Internet behaviors and outcomes?” I am also working with Dr. Julia McQuillan on several other projects related to the topic of infertility.
